Physics Classwork/HW

Please generate a lab report from last Thursday and Friday's activity.  If not finished in class on Monday to be completed for HW.  Use class time wisely!  Required parts of the lab (remember to underline sections and skip spaces between sections):

Title:   Generate  (Short and descriptive)

Purpose:  Generate  (Two sentences or more)

Materials:  Generate

Procedures:  Make a list of steps that describe your experimental setup and how you calculated momentum.  (Should  be at LEAST 8 steps)

Data:  Your complete data table

Analysis: Answer the following questions:

1.  Why in both cases SHOULD momentum have been conserved?

2.  If your momentum values were not the same, what was this due to?  Sources of error?

3.  How could you redesign the lab to get better results?

Conclusion:  Write one paragraph (at least 4 sentences) in which you talk about momentum.  Prompts can include a) why it's value is important b) where energy must have gone if it looks like it WASN'T conserved  c)  real scenarios where you can see that momentum is conserved (sports, crashes, etc....  d) how this activity showed that momentum was conserved  e) what should have happened if the lab went perfectly.
